Creation of a ‘Smart Borough’

Wokingham recognises the benefits of the evolving digital revolution and the opportunities it brings for the creation of a ‘Smart Borough’, one committed to delivering a seamless, integrated and accessible information provision.

We are creating a digital resource ‘digital engine’ comprising a suite of bespoke Wokingham styled maps generated at a range of associated scales from borough wide, town centre, neighbourhood and detailed street level. Providing high levels of interactive access, the users digital experience is further enhanced with ‘hot spot’ pop up widows promoting and onward linking to all key attractions and amenities.

The first phase of dedicated digital map variants will focus on transport provision with detailed cycle routes and bus service routes that run throughout the borough. Consistent printed map versions in hand held DL size broaden availability and access.
