london borough of greenwich.
Woolwich is an area with a rich history and exciting potential yet it is often overshadowed by it's more prestigious neighbour, Greenwich. There was an opportunity to promote Woolwich as a must see destination using an enhanced wayfinding system.
A key element of our approach was the use of mobile phone technology to deliver information from quick reference through to more detailed story-telling. The two main technologies proposed were Quick Response (QR) codes and augmented reality (AR). QR codes allow users to access information such as images, text, websites and even sound. An exciting and emerging technology; AR acts as a window into the past and allows users to view heritage sites with historical images spliced over their real-world location.
We constantly look at ways to innovative the way we communicate, challenging traditional approaches. We see evolving digital technologies as powerful tools within a wider system including physical product. Our aim is to engage and inspire intrigue in all aspects of our approach, by doing so we can reach a wider audience.
