Three months into fwdesign, and things are moving fast.

On 19 February, Angus was invited to speak at an event entitled ‘Poetry in the Built Environment’. This was an exploration of the use of text-based art in the public realm, with particular reference to the redevelopment of King’s Cross.

Two years ago, in our former life as Wood&Wood Design, we undertook a wayfinding and signage audit for the University of Sussex. The audit resulted in a set of recommendations and a master map, launched last year. We have now been appointed to create a comprehensive wayfinding strategy for the campus; an interesting challenge given the complexity of the site, the number of listed buildings and the deliberately discreet nature of many entrances.

Liverpool One is Liverpool’s largest retail-led regeneration project. A £900m redevelopment by Grosvenor, it comprises six districts and includes 1.6m sq ft of retail space, a five acre park and a new public transport interchange. fwdesign has developed a wayfinding and sign strategy that complements our work on Connecting Liverpool but is tailored to Liverpool One’s branding and colourways. We are currently assisting Grosvenor with the manufacturing tender process.
